| | Amie J. Devero | In a comparatively short time, Amie Devero, founder of The Devero Group, has been successful at a variety of careers in a wide array of industries. As president of The Devero Group, Amie is the principal agent driving the firm's work as a management consulting consortium that solves business problems using the collaborative genius of multiple professional allies to catalyze brilliance in clients. The goal is always for clients to use that thinking to generate outstanding and unprecedented results.
Amie came to consulting and professional speaking through a meandering and eclectic journey. As a professional dancer in London, England she retired at age twenty-five, already the 1988 national aerobic champion for England and owner of a fitness consulting company, Execufit Ltd. Execufit's mission was to deliver a strong return on investment to clients (including Vogue Magazine and Saatchi and Saatchi in London) by planning, building out, staffing and managing in-house wellness programs. Those programs led to reductions in employee sick days and other absenteeism and measurably increased productivity, employee satisfaction and employee loyalty.
Although she already had one Masters degree from the London School of Economics, Amie returned to Miami (her home town) to pursue another in Exercise Physiology and to expand Execufit into the United States. In 1993 she sold it to its employees and began working within a major venture capital firm on acquisitions and corporate turnaround, further developing her expertise in strategic thinking, management and organizational change. She was recruited as the Chief Operating Officer for The National In-Line Hockey Association and helped to grow that organization by over 250% annually. The NIHA was sold to The National Hockey League within five years of its inception.
In her spare time, Amie became a popular radio presence in Miami and Fort Lauderdale Florida, with two regular shows, a weekly health interview show and a daily political call-in show. In 1994, WYTA radio lured Amie to Tampa, Florida and syndicated The Amie Devero Show in 14 radio markets across the United States. Soon thereafter the station was purchased and Amie returned to management and organizational change, launching a successful consulting practice. In 1998 Amie joined Framework Consulting, consolidating her own consulting practice into the firm, and was a partner and Vice President there for over six years.
The range of Amie's experience has given her an uncanny insight into the different perspectives of a wide range of roles and concerns, from senior management to line–worker, and from booming business to receivership and destitution. That broad-base of experience has given Amie authentic compassion, sensitivity and real understanding of people’s unique points of view. Amie uses that experience and expertise to deliver serious value to clients by providing rigorous thinking, cutting edge management tools and methodologies, and the creativity and integrity that allow for problem solving and breakthrough results.
Amie's track record is one full of outstanding results for clients’ organizations of every size and business model. Along with her primary role as a consultant and trusted advisor to executives, Amie has a full schedule of speaking engagements including conference keynote addresses, workshops and pro bono speaking to associations, charities and other deserving causes. She is also very active in the community, is a member of Rotary as well as a District Chairperson for a major project as well as sitting on multiple boards of directors. In light of her extensive broadcasting experience, Amie continues to appear regularly in the media, as a writer, a talk host on several television stations and in speaking and panelist appearances.
Along with these cerebral pursuits, Amie is a dedicated tiathlete, training rigorously and competing year-round, and loves to do crossword puzzles, play Jeopardy on-line and read mysteries. | | Copyright 2004 The Devero Group, All Rights Reserved Worldwide - For more information, Contact us at info@thedeverogroup.com. |
